This past August saw the release of the latest edition of "Obabakoak", this time in Korean by publisher Hyundae Munhak.

Obabakoak now available in Korean

As we announced some months back, the Korean publisher Hyundae Munhak has just published the Korean version of Bernardo Atxaga's novel, Obabakoak.

With this latest edition published in South Korea, Atxaga's celebrated novel can now be read in 24 languages. However, the figure will increase once more when the Russian edition is published next month.

Positive reviews for the new American edition

This year another edition of Obabakoak was published in English. This latest English-language edition (other English-language editions exist, both from American and British publishers) has been well reviewed both by the press and readers: "...if someone had told me that I'd be able to take only one book of short stories with me on a long trip to a desert island, (...) I'd be gravitating toward this book, completely different from any collection of stories I've ever read, a volume containing so much variety and color in its subject matter, (...) and so much fascinating discussion about the nature of stories and story-writing that ultimately, I'd probably choose this one for the island trip".
