Duela egun batzuk iragarri genuen nola argitaratu den Estatu Batuetan "Nevada Days" (Nevadako egunak, Pamiela 2013). Bada, hasi dira iristen lehenengo aipamen, iruzkin eta oharrak hainbat hedabidetan, eta pozik egoteko modukoak dira, oso harrena ona ari baita izaten Nevada Days. Besteak beste, The Millions aldizkariak 2018ko liburu interesgarrienen zerrendan sartu du.
Graywolf Press argitaletxeak Nevada Days argitaratu berri du, Margaret Jull Costak itzulia. 2017an Erresuma Batuan kaleratu ondoren, oraingoan Estatu Batuetan ere ikusi du argia Nevadako egunak eleberriak.
Idazleak 2007-2008 bitartean familia osoarekin Renon (Nevada) egindako egonaldian idatzi zuen Nevadako egunak, kronikaren eta eleberriaren artean txirikordatzen den liburua. 2014ko Euskadi Saria irabazi zuen, eta Estatu Batuetan ere oso harrera ona ari da izaten. Esate baterako, hona hemen Matt Gallagher idazle nevadarrak (Reno, 1983) The Washington Post egunkarian idatzi duen iruzkina.
"Nevada Days serves as an inverse retelling of [Laxalt’s Sweet Promised Land], and through the precision of Atxaga’s language and the truths about Nevada and America he brings forth, it certainly meets the standard set by its predecessor. Its pages carry the smell of sagebrush and ring of slot machines, and will bring readers deep into its messy beauty. (...) A number of Nevadans have cultivated a proud literature over the years, from Clark and Robert Laxalt to more recent offerings by Claire Vaye Watkins, Willy Vlautin and Caleb S. Cage. Celebrated Basque author Bernardo Atxaga now joins their ranks. His genre-blurring Nevada Days neither loves nor scorns Reno so much as mulls it over slowly, deliberately."

Oso harrera ona Estatu Batuetan
O Magazine eta Fiction Advocate webguneek "udan irakurri beharreko" liburuen artean zerrendatu dute eta, garrantzitsuena, The Millions aldizkariak 2018. urteko bigarren zatiko nobedade literario garrantzitsuenen artean zerrendatu du. Ondorengo iruzkin eta aipamenak ere jaso ditu.
"In brief journal-entry chapters translated into English by the inimitable Margaret Jull Costa, Atxaga’s grand curiosity never dulls or wavers, nor does his wife’s and two daughters’. Part of the thrill of Nevada Days is to marvel at a family’s ceaseless desire to explore America at a crossroads during the limited time they have. (...) One assumes that the novel was a fascinating sort of travelogue for his Basque and Spanish readers—a report on America from one of their country’s most gifted storytellers. For Americans, though, in the five years since the novel’s publication, the chronicle of Atxaga and his family’s unflagging enthusiasm as they look for this thing called America may offer us something far more necessary—what the family discovers is the prologue to the country we find ourselves in today". The Millions
"A rapt and thoroughly entertaining work of autobiographical fiction. . . . Nevada Days pulls many threads together to make a rich and captivating tapestry. Atxaga is a persistently sharp writer, crossing boundaries and bringing different worlds closer." Shelf Awareness
"Told in short, bite-size bursts of prose, Nevada Days manages the difficult task of being a convincing thriller where the plot is unfolding one door away from the presumed protagonist."
World Literature Today
"A foreboding, atmospheric slow burn. . . . The real genius of this novel is Atxaga’s unique blending of autobiography and fiction, of a piece with Karl Knausgaard and Ben Lerner".
Booklist
"[Nevada Days] takes a diary form, and thoughts, observations, and memories, bump into each other like buoys on the sea... Readers will smell the pervasive sagebrush and feel the lurking danger of the Wild West, a place where footsteps quickly disappear in the dry air and always shifting sand".
Ploughshares
"The sublime meets the surreal in this hypnotic blend of memoir and fiction by the great Basque writer as he explores Reno, Nevada, an outpost teeming with David Lynch–like menace and haunted dreams".
Oprah.com
"In real life, Bernardo Atxaga had a nine-month-long residency at the University of Nevada’s Center for Basque Studies. That experience provides the inspiration for this novel, which fictionalizes his time in Nevada and offers a glimpse of shifting landscapes, dislocation, and the surreal".
Vol. 1 Brooklyn
"Atxaga's intriguing new novel, Nevada Days, is a marvelous melange that combines interwoven time- and storylines with journal-like entries, fiction, and memoir to create a literary effect at once entertaining and disturbing... Atxaga's powers of observation are as keen as they are concise. He lets spare language do the work other stylists can only envy... If Walter Van Tilburg Clark, who was actually born in Maine, captured the essence of 1940s Reno in his celebrated City of Trembling Leaves, a persuasive argument can be made that Atxaga has caught the strange, beautiful, and troubled spirit of the place during the first years of the new century".
