Elizabete Manterola, author of a PhD thesis on the translations of Bernardo Atxagas work
Elizabete Manterola Agirrezabalaga has just presented her doctoral dissertation, entitled “Euskal literatura beste hizkuntza batzuetara itzulia. Bernardo Atxagaren lanen itzulpen moten arteko alderaketa”. Her research is on Basque literature in translation, focusing on a comparison of the different types of translations of Bernardo Atxagas work.

Re-release of Mémoires d’une vache
A new French edition of “Behi euskaldun baten memoriak” (“Memoires of a Basque Cow”) was published this past January (“Mémoires d’une vache”. La Joie de Lire, 2012).

Bernardo Atxaga’s newest novel, “The Fighter”, has just been released.
Etxepare Euskal Institutua/Etxepare Basque Institute, has just published its first two books, one of which is the latest novel by writer Bernardo Atxaga, published in three languages: Basque (“Borrokaria”), Spanish (“El luchador”) and English (“The Fighter”).

Bernardo Atxaga in “Cuadernos de Narrativa”
The latest volume of “Cuadernos de Narrativa” gathers the texts of the various papers presented at the 2009 International Colloquium on Bernardo Atxaga, which took place March 23-25 at the University of Neuchâtel as part of the “Grand Séminaire de Neuchâtel”. The volume’s authors are Irene Andres-Suárez and Antonio Rivas Bonillo.

Warm reception for the novel “Seven Houses in France”
“Seven Houses in France”, the English version of “Zazpi etxe Frantzian”, was released at the beginning of November and has been receiving positive reviews in the UK press. This is the sixth novel by Bernardo Atxaga published in English.
