Launch of Zazpi etxe Frantzian
Last week saw the launch of Bernardo Atxaga’s new novel, Zazpi etxe Frantzian (“Seven Houses in France”), at the Koldo Mitxelena Center in San Sebastián. The novel will be available in Spanish, Catalan and Galician by the end of the month.

The Swedish translation of “The Accordionist’s Son” has just been published
The Swedish translation of “The Accordionist’s Son” has just been published (Bonniers Förlag, 2008). Early reviews coming out of Sweden are positive.

New releases in the United Kingdom, the United States and Israel
2008 will see the following releases of Atxaga’s work: the publication of “The Accordionist’s Son” (“El hijo del acordionista”) in Great Britain and the United States, the publication of “The Lone Man” (“El hombre solo”) in Israel, and the reissue of “Obabakoak” in English.

Einaudi has just published “Racconti di montagna” (Mountain Stories), a collection of short stories which includes Bernardo Atxaga.

“Harmonikaspillerens søn” (Samleren, 2007)
Coinciding with the Frankfurt Fair, the Danish version of “The Son of the Accordionist,” published by Samleren, has been released.
