Shola's Adventures in French and Italian

2008-09-18  ¦  Children's Literature

The adventures of Shola the dog have new translations and new formats: we are pleased to announce a French translation of one of her adventures and the release of an audiobook in Italian.

Shola's Adventures in French and Italian

"Xola eta Angelito" has been translated into the French Shola des villes, Shola des champs (La Joie de lire, 2008). This is the third Shola adventure story to be translated into French, following "Shola et les sangliers" ("Shola and the Wild Boars") and "Shola et les lions" ("Shola and the Lions").

Additionally, an audiobook version of "Xolak badu lehoien berri" has been released in Italy under the title "Shola e i leoni". This release was produced by the Centro Internazionale del Libro Parlato (Oral Book International Centre). The story had been previously published in Italy as a book.

"Shola y lo sleones" is also in the news in Spain as it's just had its twentieth printing (Colección Barco de vapor, SM editores).

Of all the children's books written by Atxaga, Shola's adventures have been the most widely published and translated; her adventures can be read in many languages, including Basque, Spanish, Catalan, French, German and Italian.
