The Accordionist's Son is a finalist for Japan's Best Translation Prize

Bernardo Atxaga's novel The Accordionist's Son— アコーディオン弾きの息子 (2020) in Japanese—is among the five finalists for the 7th annual Best Translation Prize.
The Japanese edition of The Accordionist's Son has been extremely well received in Japan. In addition to the reviews and mentions in newspapers and magazines, it has also been widely acclaimed by readers and selected as one of the best novels of 2020 by one of Japan's most respected newspapers, Asahi Shimbun.
The latest news to come out of Japan is that the novel has been shortlisted as one of 2020's best translations. The Accordionist's Son was translated by Nami Kaneko and published by Shinchosha.
